April and May have been the seasons of tornado in the United States and in Iowa I could hear people saying central America which Iowa is located has been the most jeopardized place of the season．After the tornado practice，unfortunately and horribly the tornado came ands troke downtown lowa．
It was a stormy afternoon when the alarming bell in Hawkeye court rang up．The sky was so horribly dark and gloomy while wind seemed to be howling at a frightening tast speed．I was at home doing school work when my parents switched on the TV finding the weather forecast talk-ing of tornado moving toward Iowa and Missouri．I"d read news reporting how tornado took its toll on the neighborhood of Iowa and watched movies about how it cruelly took away people’s lives．I started imagining how it may start its journey here in Iowa，in Hawkeye Court．There were people telling us to stay in basement as it is the safest place in such adeadly disaster．However，there wasn"t one in our apartment．My parents joked about where to go when tornado canle while I was feeling moreald more nervous．
I didn’t remember exactly how I spent the rest of that afternoon and evening，but I did remember hoW I woke up in the morning hearing news saying tornado having passed Iowa．Part of downtown suffered from a sever destruction of tornado，but fortunately，there was no death．The instant I stepped into the classroom building that morning，I could hear students talking of the night they spent with their parents in basement or wherever they could be in order to get rid of the danger．In every pe-riod of class，the teacher made us talk about what all we did last night．Students living in downtown proudly talked about the way they and their families spent in the house．Tornado became the biggest headline in the new spaper all of a sudden．
The other day we came to downtown and were shocked to see some of the buildings losing its roof with wreckages scattered in streets up-swept．Traffic lights have been mostly broken down，lying on the ground．Broken trees and cars were still there like bunches of crying babies．So terrible the loss was that I had no way to figure out how peo-ple got over the night．It was the first time in my life that I happened to witness a catastrophe falling around me．
Tornado ended in the last of may and this is my experience with tornado，a nightmare of the nature．
