Long ago, there was a thatched cottage at the foot of a mountain, in which there lived an old Zhuang widow who had three sons. The widowed master weaver completed a Zhuang brocade, on which there were houses, gardens, orchards, kaleyards and fish ponds, as well as chickens, ducks, oxen and sheep.
One day, the wind blew it away toward the east of Heaven. It turned out that it was taken away by a group of fairies in the Taiyangshan Mountain who wanted it as a design sample.
The old woman asked her eldest son to go to the east and retrieve it for her. Because he could not bear hardship, he was given a box of gold by an old grandmother and went back to the city to live in ease and comfort. The old woman asked her second son to do the same thing and he, like his elder brother, could not bear hardship, got a box of gold from an old grandmother and went back to the city to enjoy an easy life.
With the help of a big stone horse, the youngest son of the old woman crossed the volcano and the sea, located the fairy in red, and asked her to return the Zhuang brocade. The fairy in red was weaving another brocade with the Zhuang brocade by the old woman as an example. The youngest son took the opportunity to take away the Zhuang brocade of his family and returned to his mother, riding the big stone horse. After the third son returned home, the Zhuang brocade gradually extended in the sun and became a beautiful hometown. The fairy who had embroidered her figure on the Zhuang brocade was brought to their new home. The fairy married the youngest son and they lived there with the weaver happily ever after.
One day, the other two brothers, who had spent all the gold given to them by the old grandmother and become beggars, came back to the village. They felt too ashamed to visit their relatives and left after a few days with their begging bowls in their hands.
